Middlebury had little trouble with Wesleyan as the Panthers defeated the Cardinals 6-2 in a NESCAC contest on Kohn Field. Middlebury is now 5-0 on the season and ranked fifth in the latest national poll.

Middlebury opened the scoring after a quick pass along the goal line from Chase Delano found Sally Ryan who finished for the 1-0 lead. Just over five minutes later, Heather McCormack ripped a hard shot into the back of the cage after a nice centering feed from Delano. The lead grew to 3-0 with 13:10 remaining as Ryan settled a pass from McCormack on a penalty corner and found the back of the goal. Delano scored the final goal of the half as she drove towards the goal and finished.

Emily Blair scored just 55 seconds into the second half, before Sophie Thompson converted a penalty stroke to make it a 6-0 game. Wesleyan broke up the shutout with 14:30 remaining as Lili Creighton scored after a scramble in front.

Caitlin Pentifallo made five saves in 67 minutes to earn the win, while Breen McDonald made six saves for Wesleyan in 48 minutes of work.
