Middlebury moved to 2-0 on the season as they picked up a 2-1 win over Elmira at the Panther/Cardinal Classic at Plattsburgh. The Panthers entered the game ranked third in the early going, while Elmira was in the top spot. The Soaring Eagles held a 41-22 shots advantage in the game, but Lexi Bloom earned 40 saves to pick up the win.
Annmarie Cellino gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead with just 1:53 left in the first period, netting her second goal of the season. Elmira tied the game with a power play goal from Kayla Coady at 16:34, before Molly Vitt scored the game-winner on a power play 4:10 into the third period.
