XCountry Teams Race At NESCAC's - Women Share Title

The Middlebury women earned a share of the NESCAC women's cross country championship, as the Panthers and Ephs of Williams will split the '08 crown. The title is the ninth for Middlebury, who also shared the title with Williams in '04. The races were held at Pineland Farms and hosted by Bates College as the Middlebury men finished the 11-team race in sixth place.

Alexandra Krieg led the Panther women, finishing the race in third place overall with a time of 22:25, 36 seconds off the winning pace. Elise Moody-Roberts and Claire McIlvennie placed ninth (22:26) and 10th (22:36) respectively, followed by Cate Brown (22:37) in 12th and Hannah Meier (22:41) in 14th.

Michael Schmidt paced the men's effort, finishing the race in 12th place with a time of 26:14. Peter Hoffman was next for Middlebury in 28th place (26:45), followed by Rainey Johnson in 31st (26:51). Coming in 34th place was Jack Terrett with a time of 26:56, followed by Jack Wambach in 39th place (27:02).
