Audrey MacLean and Lilly Wurtz were recognized as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America honorees for Women's Track & Field/Cross Country. MacLean earned a first-team selection, while Wurtz logged a spot on the second team.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

• MacLean (First Team)
  • A molecular biology and biochemistry major, MacLean secures her second Academic All-America honor after earning a third-team nod last year.
  • The rising senior had a stellar cross country campaign, becoming the second Middlebury athlete to earn an individual national title with a time of 20:16.8.
  • Her clocking is the sixth-fastest time in NCAA Championship history.
  • The Panther secured the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National and Regional Women's Athlete of the Year and a First-Team All-American selection.
  • MacLean paced the field at the NCAA Mideast Region (21:21.6) and NESCAC (20:47.8) Championships. She was named the conference's most outstanding performer and an All-NESCAC First Team honoree for the third consecutive year.
  • The Panther is a four-time USTFCCCA and NESCAC All-Academic team selection and a College Scholar.
  • She is the incoming co-president of Middlebury's Nutrition Outreach and Mentoring (NOM) and spent last summer as a research assistant for a clinical trial using Ayurvedic medicine for breast cancer patients.
  • MacLean worked during the spring semester of 2025 on a project focused on Alzheimer's disease in the neuroscience lab at Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
  • She volunteers for Girls on the Run and at the Porter Medical Center, as well as being Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certified.
• Wurtz (Second Team)
  • Wurtz completed her degree in computer science and secured her first Academic All-America laurel.
  • She earned a USTFCCCA Outdoor Second Team All-American nod in the discus at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
  • During the NESCAC Championships, Wurtz claimed the discus title, throwing the implement 45.55 meters. She became the second Panther in program history to win the event and reset the record by 1.83 meters.
  • The Panther tallied the conference's shot put crown with her toss of 12.74 meters. She is the first Middlebury field athlete to win two events at a conference invite in a singular season.
  • Wurtz secured the discus title at the Division III New England Outdoor Championships (43.03m) and was a five-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection across three events this season.
  • In the classroom, the Panther was a dean's list and college scholar honoree alongside five NESCAC All-Academic and two USTFCCCA All-Academic selections.
