Field Hockey Tops Conn.

Middlebury picked up its fourth straight win as the Panthers earned a 5-1 road victory at Connecticut College on Saturday. Heather McCormack had two goals and an assist in the win, as the Panthers held a 12-4 advantage in shots on the afternoon. With the win, Middlebury has locked up a NESCAC first-round home game and will host a contest on Sunday, November 2nd at 1:00.

Middlebury scored its first three goals on penalty corners, taking a 3-0 lead 29:39 into the game. Allison Grant and Lindsay McBride tallied the first two, both assisted by Mullery Doar. Marnie Rowe redirected a pass from McCormack for the third goal, to make it a 3-0 lead.

McCormack scored her 10th and 11th goals of the season in the second half, to give the Panthers a 5-0 lead with under 22 minutes left to play. Kelsey Fredericks broke up the shutout for the Camels with a goal at the 56-minute mark of the contest.

Caitlin Pentifallo made two saves in 66 minutes, while Becca Shaw was forced to make none in four minutes of relief. Robin Edwards made five saves for the Camels.
