Men's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season

The Panther men's tennis team was in action over the weekend at the Bates Invitational in Maine. The doubles team of sophomore Andrew Peters (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore Rich Bonfiglio (Bronxville, N.Y.) won the "A" doubles bracket with four wins, including an 8-4 victory in the title match. The duo sophomore Mike Malhame (Douglaston, N.Y.) and first-year player David Farah (Flint, Mich.) won a match before falling 8-6 in the quarterfinals.

In singles play, sophomore Ben Weitz (Elkins Park, Pa.) picked up a pair of wins, including a 6-1, 4-6, 10-3 victory in the quarterfinals. He then fell 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals to the eventual "D" singles winner. In "B" singles, first-year player Eric Vehovec (Toronto, Ont.) won a contest before falling 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 in the quarterfinal round.
