The Middlebury men's basketball team opened the second semester with a 63-54 win over McDaniel at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Panthers outscored their opponent 37-28 in the second half after a 26-26 tie at the break.

Ben Rudin paced the team with 12, Kyle Dudley scored 10, while Tim Edwards did the same with seven boards. Mike Walsh ended the afternoon with eight points and four blocks.
