Women's Hockey Earns Tie At Amherst

Second-ranked Middlebury earned a tie on the road as they battled to a 2-2 deadlock at seventh-ranked Amherst. The Panthers got on the board just five minutes into the second period, on a rebound goal from Nora Bergman. Ashley Bairos picked up an assist with the initial shot.

Amherst responded nicely with a flurry of offensive pressure, which led to a pair of Middlebury penalties that overlapped by just two seconds. Just after the power plays ended, the Lord Jeffs found the equalizer on a similar goal. Megan Curry took a backhanded shot that was stopped by Lani Wright, allowing Molly Malloy to flip home the equalizer over the Panther goaltender's shoulder.

Less than a minute later, Courtney Hanlon scored her second goal in as many games to give Amherst a 2-1 lead.

Middlebury tied the game early in the third with a goal from Tania Kenny on a slap shot from the point less than three minutes into the frame.

The game would end in a 2-2 tie, with neither team able to earn the game-winner in the overtime.
