Field Hockey Edges Colby

Dana Rye scored with 11 minutes left in the game as Middlebury held on for a 3-2 win over Colby in Maine on Saturday. The Panthers return to action on Sunday at Bowdoin.

Colby scored first when Chrissy Maloney tallied just 5:01 into the game. However, the Panthers went ahead at the break on goals by Lacey Farrell and Reid Berrien. Colby's Mary Clare Snediker tallied on a penalty corner with 22:37 left in the second half to make it a 2-2 game, setting up Rye's game-winner.

Middlebury keeper Meghan McGillen stopped seven shots, while Colby goalie Jamie Enos had 16 saves.
