Men's Track and Field

Bright, Becker & Butcher Compete At NCAA's

Three members of the Middlebury College men's track & field team competed at the 2006 NCAA Championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois over the weekend.

Senior Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) was impressive in the 400 hurdles, as his qualifying time of 52.16 set a new track record and was the top Division III performance of the year. Unfortunately for Bright, he was beaten in the final, seeing his qualifying performances bested as he placed second in 51.95, earning All-American status.

Senior Khristoph Becker (Media, Pa.) had another great performance at the NCAA's, placing second in the javelin with a toss of 202'9", while coming in third in the decathalon with 6,996 points. Both of his efforts earned his All-American status.

Middlebury's other qualifier was sophomore Jimmy Butcher (Garden City, N.J.), who finished 14th with a time of 31:42.98 in the 10,000 meters.
