Middlebury improved to 4-1 on the season as the second-ranked Panthers picked up a 15-5 win over #16 Union in the team's home-opener on Kohn Field.
Middlebury jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before Union answered with a pair to tie the game at the 11:51 mark. The Panthers then scored five of the next six goals to take a 7-3 lead into the halftime break. The teams exchanged the first four goals of the second half, leaving Union with a 9-5 deficit with 16:08 remaining. Middlebury scored the game's final six goals to pick up the 15-5 win.
Kim Walker led Middlebury with three goals and two assists, while Schuyler Winstead added two goals and two helpers. Alison Perencevich and Elizabeth Renehan each had two goals and an assist. Erin Lawson paced Union with two goals and an assist.
Blaire Bowie and Whitney Wildrick combined to make two saves for Middlebury, while Stephanie Burlton and Rachel Beckman made 25 stops for Union.
