The Middlebury College field hockey team opened up its 2005 season with a 4-1 win over Connecticut College on Kohn Field. The Panthers out shot the Camels 18-8 on the afternoon and will return to action tomorrow with a road game at Springfield.

The senior struck again at 20:44 of the second half, scoring while driving to the goal. Allison Smith netted Middlebury's final goal of the afternoon with 1:40 left as she converted a feed from Lacey Farrell.
