Three members of the Middlebury College men's track & field team were in action at Wartburg College in Iowa at the 2005 NCAA Division III Championships. Junior Khristoph Becker (Media, Pa.) became the school's third NCAA individual champion, as he captured the title in the javelin with a toss of 205'11". He becomes the school's second NCAA javelin champion, after Bryan Black '02 won the event in '02.
Junior Steve Atkinson (Huntingdon, Que.) also turned in a great performance in the javelin, throwing 195'8" to place fifth overall, earning All-American status. Also earning All-American honors was junior Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.), who placed fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 53.46 seconds.
