Baseball Team Opens Home Season

Middlebury scored seven runs in the second inning en route to a 15-4 win over St. Michael's in the team's home-opener on Forbes Field. Five different players pitched for the Panthers, with Dave Irwin earning the win with two strong innings of relief.

The second inning explosion featured a two-run triple by Dom DiDomenico and a two-run double by Dev Talvadkar. Middlebury would scored four runs through the middle innings, then add a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to seal the win.

Ryan Armstrong ended the day 3-4 with two runs and two RBI, while David Riester went 3-5 with a pair of runs scored and one driven in. Talvadkar was 2-4 with two runs, two doubles and two RBI on the afternoon, while Joe Ramoin also had a pair of hits and runs.

Irwin, Chris Fraser and Jack Britton each threw two innings of scoreless baseball.
