Women's Lacrosse Ends Regular Season With Win

4/30/05 - Middlebury outscored Trinity 9-3 in the second half en route to an 18-9 win on Kohn Field. The Panthers have earned the top seed in the NESCAC Tournament, will draw a first-round bye, and host the semifinals and finals next weekend on Kohn Field. Trinity ends its season at 8-7. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Middlebury led 2-0 when Emily Allen cut the lead in half for Trinity at the 23:48 mark. Just 19 seconds later, Liza Humes answered for Middlebury to make it a 3-1 game. The lead grew to 6-3 later in the half, before the Panthers took an 8-3 lead on a goal from Alison Perencevich with 15:30 left in the half. Trinity answered with a pair of goals, before the team's exchanged the final two goals of the half to leave Middlebury with a 9-6 lead at the intermission.

Middlebury opened the second half on a 7-0 run to put the game away, taking a 16-6 lead. Humes and Claire Edelen each had a pair of goals during the decisive run.

Humes ended the game with four goals and two assists, while Edelen had three goals and three assists. Elizabeth Renehan scored three and dished out a pair of assists, while Kim Walker added three goals. Allen had three goals on the afternoon to pace Trinity.

Johanna Rosenfield made eight saves in goal for Middlebury, while Michelle Smith had a dozen for Trinity.
