Middlebury Tops Skidmore

The Middlebury College baseball team improved to 12-8 overall as they picked up a 9-6 road win at Skidmore. Justin Wright earned the win, allowing three earned runs over seven innings of work.

Trailing 2-0, Middlebury struck for four runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-2 lead. The advantage grew to 7-2 with a three-run seventh, before Skidmore answered with three of their own in the bottom of the inning to make it a 7-5 game. The Thoroughbreds cut the lead to 7-6 in the eighth, before Middlebury scored two in the ninth to seal the 9-6 win.

Jack Britton earned the save with two innings of work, while David Riester paced the offense, going 3-5 with a pair of runs scored and his fifth triple of the season. Noah Walker went 2-3 with two runs scored, as did Ryan Armstrong, who also drove in a pair of runs. Dev Talvadkar went 2-2 with two runs scored and three RBI to add to the offense.
