Baseball Team Falls To Mass. College

Massachusetts College scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back as they picked up a 14-5 win over Middlebury on Forbes Field. The Trailblazers pounded out 15 hits on the day and took advantage of seven Middlebury errors en route to the win.

Trailing 6-0, Middlebury rallied for three runs in the third inning, sparked by a two-run homer to center by John Lanahan. Massachusetts College answered with four runs through the middle innings, adding a pair in the seventh and ninth to seal the win. The Panthers other two runs came in the ninth, on a two-run shot to left by Andrew Pavoni.

David Riester was the lone Middlebury player with multiple hits as he had a single and a double on the afternoon. Chris Flynn went 4-6 with three doubles, four runs scored and four RBI for the Trailblazers. Steve Hemingway threw seven innings and allowed no earned runs to pick up the win.
