3/26/05 - Middlebury won 18 of 22 face-offs en route to an 18-3 win over Connecticut College in NESCAC men's lacrosse action. The Panthers are ranked third in the latest Division III national poll.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Middlebury broke open a 1-0 game with a five-goal second quarter to take a 6-1 lead into the halftime break. Jim Cabrera scored two goals and earned an assist during the Panthers' run. The lead grew to 8-1 in the third quarter, before Jordan Yearsley scored for the Camels to make it an 8-2 game. Middlebury then ran off nine straight goals to pull away and pick up the convincing win.
Cabrera led the Middlebury offense with six goals and two assists, Henry Sheehan added a pair of goals and two assists, while Travis Meyer added a goal and three assists. Alex Palmisano made eight saves in 47 minutes to earn the win, while Topher Grossman made a dozen stops for <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Connecticut College in 54 minutes of play.
