Women's Lacrosse Falls To Salisbury

3/23/05 - The <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Middlebury College women's lacrosse team suffered its first regular season loss in 55 games today, as they fell to Salisbury in Florida, 12-10. Their last regular season loss came at the hands of Amherst back on April 8th of '00. The Panthers entered the game ranked #1 nationally, while the Gulls were #2.

The game was tied at four in the first half, before Salisbury went on a 4-0 run to take an 8-4 lead and an 8-5 advantage into the second half. Middlebury cut the lead to 10-8 in the second half, before a pair of Salisbury goals gave them a 12-8 advantage. The Panthers scored the game's final two goals to make it a 12-10 contest.

Kim Walker and Elizabeth Renehan scored three goals apiece to lead the Middlebury offense, while Beth Seeley added two. Johanna Rosenfield made 10 saves in goal for Middlebury.
