Panthers Top S. Vermont

Middlebury moved to 4-0 for the first time since the 1944-45 season, with a 76-62 road win over Southern Vermont. The Panthers return to action when they host Union on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

An 8-2 run in the first half gave Middlebury a 20-14 lead with 10:03 remaining. Leading 34-26 at the half, the Panthers went on a 12-0 run to open the second half, taking a 46-26 lead at the 18:13 mark. The lead was cut to as few as 10, but that's as close as S. Vermont would get.

Evan Thompson paced the team with 16 points on the night, followed by Sam Daly with 13, Andrew Harris with 11 and Wil Hyatt with 10. Walsh grabbed 10 rebounds, Hyatt had eight, while Daly and Ben Rudin had four assists apiece.
