Field Hockey Defeats Rensselaer

Middlebury won its sixth consecutive game as they picked up a 4-1 win over Rensselaer on Kohn Field. The ninth-ranked Panthers wrap up their regular season at Trinity on Saturday before hosting a NESCAC Tournament first-round game on Sunday at 1:00. The Red Hawks wrap up their regular season at St. Lawrence on Saturday.

Reid Berrien scored the first of her three goals on the afternoon at the 26:38 mark of the first half with an outside shot after a feed from Channing Weymouth. Allison Smith gave Middlebury a 2-0 lead at 19:49, before Berrien and Weymouth struck again with just 2:11 left in the first half. Rensselaer scored its lone goal of the game on a penalty corner with no time left in the half as Kristina Baker found Andrea Flynn, who buried the shot from close range. Berrien scored the game's final goal with 24:01 remaining, to make it a 4-1 contest.

Meghan McGillen ended the game with a pair of saves for Middlebury, while Amanda Lund has a busy day, making 26 saves on the afternoon for Rensselaer.
