Middlebury saw its 18-game NESCAC regular season winning streak come to an end on Sunday as Bowdoin picked up a 2-1 double overtime win on Kohn Field. The Panthers entered the game ranked sixth in the nation, while the Polar Bears were in the 13th spot.
Middlebury took a 1-0 lead early in the second half as Reid Berrien's shot from the top of the circle was tipped into the cage by Ashley Lyddane for her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Bowdoin tied the game just 1:57 later as Christi Gannon scored after a penalty corner and scramble in front of the net. The game would remain at 1-1 through regulation and one full overtime before Bowdoin ended the game 1:40 into the second overtime. The goal came as Val Young sent a pass down low to Taryn King, who redirected into the goal for the game-winner.
