The Middlebury College indoor track teams were in action last weekend at the Wesleyan Invitational. Senior Sarah Berkowitz (Media, Pa.) was a winner in the pole vault, clearing 9'6". Winning on the men's side was sophomore Neiman Groce (Rutland, Vt.), who leaped 20'4.25" to win the long jump.Two women's relay teams were also victorious on the day. The 4x200 team of Berkowitz, sophomore Erin Oliver (Essex Junction, Vt.) and first-year racers Elysian McNiff (Gloucester, Mass.) and Lizz Huntley (Coralville, Iowa) won the event with a time of 1:53.78. Senior Melissa Thacker (Canton, N.Y.), sophomore Alice Flanders (Lexington, Mass.) and first-year racers Jessie Evangelista (Hughsonville, N.Y.) and Heather Bessette (Malone, N.Y.) comprised the winning 4x400 (4:19.80) relay team.
The Middlebury women also had a pair of strong second place finishes on the day. Placing in the 500 was Thacker, with a time of 1:24.32, while Oliver finished second in the 55 meter hurdles (9.36)
