Women's Lacrosse Clinches NESCAC Regular Season Title

4/21/04 - With a 21-7 win over Williams, Middlebury clinched the NESCAC regular season title and the right to host the semifinals and championship on May 1st and 2nd on Kohn Field. First-round games will take place this Sunday, with Middlebury drawing a bye.

The Panthers came out firing once again as they scored the game's first seven goals. Schuyler Winstead and Nuala O'Donohoe each had a pair of goals during the run. Williams cut the lead to 7-2 before Middlebury ran off three more tallies to take a 10-2 lead with 8:48 left in the first half. The teams exchanged the last four goals of

The lead grew to 14-4 before Molly Jennings scored her third goal of the game for Williams at the 25:02 mark. Tara Boyd scored just 52 seconds later to cut the lead to 14-6, but that would be the Ephs final goal for the next 21:22. Middlebury scored seven goals in that span, taking a 21-6 lead before Jennings netted her fourth of the game at 2:48.

O'Donohoe paced Middlebury with six goals and two assists, while Winstead scored five along with an assist. Elizabeth Renehan was in on the offense with three goals and three assists. Jennings paced Williams with four goals.

Sarah Grenert and Johanna Rosenfield combined to make 11 saves for Middlebury, while Meghan Dwyer and Morgan Anderson made a dozen stops for Williams.
