Women's Lacrosse Defeats Skidmore

4/15/04 - Middlebury scored four goals in the game's first 7:22 on its way to a 15-6 win over Skidmore on Kohn Field. This marks the final non-league game of the season for Middlebury as they return to conference play when they host Bowdoin on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Nuala O'Donohoe scored two of her game-high four goals during the opening 4-1 run.  The Panthers led 6-1 late in the half when O'Donohoe scored two more with a goal from Alison Perencevich sandwiched in-between to give Middlebury a 9-2 lead at the half. Kim Walker opened the second half with a goal before Kate Shea answered for the Thoroughbreds to make it a 10-3 game. Middlebury came right back 21 seconds later with a goal from Channing Weymouth. Katie Weber answered for Skidmore just 13 seconds later to cut the lead to 11-4 with 24:56 left to play. Middlebury added four more goals, while Liza Gorman scored a pair for Skidmore to make it a 15-6 final.

O'Donohoe paced the Panthers with four goals, while Elizabeth Renehan scored two goals and assisted on five others. Liza Gorman and Katie Weber netted two apiece to lead Skidmore. Sarah Grenert and Johanna Rosenfield combined to make six saves in goal for Middlebury, while Sarah Berheide made a dozen stops for Skidmore.
