The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup is a program that honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. Started in 1993-94 for NCAA Division I by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) organization and USA Today, it was expanded in 1995-96 to include both NCAA Division II and Division III as well as the NAIA and in 2011-12, it expanded even more to include Junior/Community Colleges.
Middlebury College has enjoyed 20-consecutive top-10 finishes in the NCAA Division III Cup standings, capturing its first Directors' Cup in 2011-12.
