Adams, Brams, Fuqua, Han, McInerny and Messer all earned all-district recognition.
Six Middlebury student-athletes across five different sports have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large selections. Caroline Adams, Shea Brams, Megan Fuqua, Ella Han, Avery McInerny and Caroline Messer each earned recognition.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Adams (lacrosse)
- Adams graduated in May after double-majoring in neuroscience and Spanish.
- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Player and Attacker of the Year was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and received an all-tournament team nod.
- Adams logged NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year honors and a spot on the all-conference first team.
- The attacker had a stellar final campaign in the navy and white. She led the NESCAC in a host of categories, including points (117), goals (72) and draw controls (124).
- The Panther had multi-point performances in all 23 contests this season, headlined by a pair of eight-point showings.
- She became the first player in program history to surpass 400 career draw controls. She caps her career with 473, which slots fifth in Division III.
- Adams is a three-time IWLCA All-American and has garnered three regional nods.
- The Panther earned Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude honors. She also received the Hazeltine-Klevenow Memorial Trophy and is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic selection.
- Additionally, Adams served as co-leader and sustainability chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and an Everybody Wins Mentor at Mary Hogan Elementary School.
- Brams (nordic skiing)
- Brams earned her degree in environmental studies and logs her second academic all-district nod.
- She has been a captain of the nordic squad each of the last three campaigns.
- Brams closed her Middlebury career with an All-American nod at the NCAA Skiing Championship after finishing 10th in the 7.5K freestyle.
- The Panther earned Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) First Team honors and was the top finisher in 13 of 14 disciplines.
- She closes her time in the navy and white with two All-American honors, four All-East selections and 18 podium finishes.
- Brams has been a NESCAC All-Academic honoree in each of the last three seasons and a college scholar.
- Off the trails, she was involved with multiple organizations, including TEDxMiddlebury, Oratory Now and MiddCORE.
- Fuqua (field hockey)
- A rising senior, Fuqua is studying psychology.
- She led the Panthers with 14 goals and 30 points en route to an All-American Second Team nod from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).
- Fuqua also earned All-Region First Team and All-NESCAC First Team honors.
- The midfielder was named the conference and national offensive player of the week after tallying nine points (4G, 1A) over three contests.
- Fuqua has 17 goals and seven assists, including 10 multi-point performances, over 1,461 career minutes.
- She is a two-time NFHCA National Academic Squad and NESCAC All-Academic honoree.
- Han (golf)
- Han is a molecular biology and biochemistry major and earns her first all-district laurel.
- The rising senior excelled at the NCAA Championship, earning fifth after shooting a 72-hole total of 286. Her national finish was the highest of any player in program history.
- She was one of two golfers in the 175-player field to finish at par or better in all four rounds.
- Han claimed a share of 12th at the conference invite and led Middlebury to a runner-up spot.
- The Panther was an All-Region 1 selection by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and an all-conference second-team honoree.
- She has been named a WGCA All-American Scholar and NESCAC All-Academic selection.
- Han is a biostatistics teaching assistant and conducted undergraduate research focused on organic chemistry at Middlebury. She presented her research at the 2026 Middlebury Spring Student Symposium.Â
- She is a volunteer at Porter Medical Center and the Open Door Clinic.Â
- McInerny (ice hockey)
- McInerny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.
- She was named a CCM/AHCA Third Team All-American, New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) All-Star and All-NESCAC First Team selection.
- McInerny paced the squad in plus/minus (+25) and was second in the conference with 20 assists and 1.15 points per game.
- She served as an alternate captain.
- The forward logged career highs in goals (10), assists (20) and points (30).
- She logged 87 points (30G, 57A) over 112 career games and is a two-time all-conference honoree.
- In the classroom, McInerny was a Krampade/AHCA All-American Scholar and NESCAC All-Academic selection.
- Messer (lacrosse)
- Messer earned a degree in psychology and secured her initial CSC Academic All-District selection.
- She was named the IWLCA National Defender of the Year and an All-American First-Team selection after helping lead the Panthers to their 12th national title.
- Messer led the team with 47 caused turnovers and 59 ground balls. Her 47 induced miscues were the second-most in a single campaign in program history.
- The defender logged 13 games with two or more turnovers, including five in two contests.
- She is a college scholar and member of both the IWLCA Division III Honor Roll and NESCAC All-Academic lists.
- Off the field, Messer is a volunteer with Special Olympics Vermont and the Mary Johnson Children's Center.
- The Panther is running in the New York City Marathon this fall to raise money for Girls on the Run.
An athlete must be a sophomore athletically or higher, hold a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or higher, have been enrolled at the institution for at least one calendar year and be a starter or key reserve on their team to be eligible for the honor.
