#1 Women’s Lacrosse Secures Five IWLCA All-American Nods

Five Panthers garnered IWLCA All-American praise, headlined by a trio of first-team honorees.
Five members of the top-ranked Middlebury women's lacrosse team earned All-American praise from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Caroline Adams, Lucy Bishop and Caroline Messer were tabbed for the first team, while Skylar Lach earned a second-team nod. Haley Hamilton closed out the honorees with a spot on the third squad.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Adams (First Team)
    • Adams collects her third All-American honor and initial spot on the first team.
    • The senior has collected multiple awards this season, including a third consecutive IWLCA All-Region First Team selection. She also became the fourth Panther in a row to nab NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year laurels.
    • The all-conference first-team honoree paces the squad in goals (68), assists (41), points (109) and draw controls (120). She spearheads the league in points and markers and slots 14th nationally in total points.
    • Adams has been efficient from the eight-meter arc, ranking fifth across Division III in free-position tallies per game (1.0) and eighth in free-position percentage (.724).
    • Entering with 164 career markers and 91 helpers, she looks to become the fifth player in program history to pass the 100-goal and 100-assist thresholds.
    • She became the first Middlebury player to eclipse 400 career draw controls and enters the championship weekend with 469.
  • Bishop (First Team)
    • Bishop secures the national honor for the first time in her career.
    • The junior was named an All-Pilgrim Region first-team honoree and grabbed her first all-league honor with a spot on the top squad.
    • Bishop joins Adams to form a formidable duo in the draw circle. She owns 99 total draw victories while slotting second on the team and fourth in the NESCAC with 4.71 wins per contest.
    • She became the sixth player in school history to surpass 200 draw controls earlier this spring.
    • Bishop has also scooped 27 ground balls and caused 19 turnovers.
  • Messer (First Team)
    • Messer claims her initial All-American distinction.
    • The all-region and all-conference pick anchors the nation's stingiest scoring defense, surrendering just 4.95 goals per contest entering the final weekend.
    • Messer headlines the program with 54 ground balls and 42 caused turnovers. Her rate of two induced cough-ups per game slots fourth in the NESCAC.
    • The senior has also contributed 19 draw controls, three markers and one helper.
  • Lach (Second Team)
    • Lach's spot on the second team marks her first IWLCA national accolade.
    • The two-time regional honoree slots third among her Panther peers in goals (41), assists (22) and points (63).
    • Across three NCAA Tournament contests, the senior has amassed six goals and four assists, headlined by a six-point effort (3G, 3A) against St. John Fisher in the second round.
    • She logged her 100th career marker against The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in last weekend's regional final.
  • Hamilton (Third Team)
    • Hamilton grabs her first All-American selection.
    • The senior also earned all-region and all-league laurels this season.
    • Hamilton has served as a reliable second scoring option, trailing only Adams on the team with 56 goals. Her nine assists bring her point total to 65, the second-most on the squad.
    • Over her last six efforts, she has tallied 13 goals and three assists, including multi-goal showings in the third round and regional final against Rowan and TCNJ, respectively.
