The 21st-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team battled to secure the crucial point in doubles and never looked back, besting Hamilton by a 7-0 decision in New York.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Panthers came out of the gates strong, recording the doubles point. Nathan Hernandez and Thehan Wijemanne tallied a 6-3 decision over Villem Aadamsoo and Lleyton Mendieta in the top slot. The pair of Nikky Kondamuri and Julian Wu pushed Middlebury ahead 1-0 via a 6-4 triumph at #3. 
• Hugh Hentschel commenced singles by posting a straight-set result (6-3, 6-0) over Anson Anderson in the third position, before Wu tallied identical 6-3 victories against Mendieta at #1 for a 3-0 lead.
• Andrew Yim clinched the match for the navy and white, besting Moller (6-3, 6-4) in the fifth slot.
• At #6, Kondamuri fell in a tiebreaker (7-3) in the opening set before grinding out a 6-4 second-set win. The junior secured Middlebury's fifth point with a narrow 10-8 decision in the superbreaker.
• Wijemanne needed three sets to get past Aadamsoo in the second slot. The Continental won 7-5 in the initial frame before the Panther leveled the match on a 6-2 decision. Wijemanne outlasted Aadamsoo in the superbreaker (10-7) to earn the tally.
• Competing in the fourth spot, Anand Sahasrabudhe sealed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-4 victory against Katelevsky.

NOTES

• The win was Kondamuri's 25th for his career during singles play, while Sahasrabudhe secured his 10th.
• The programs squared off for the 17th matchup, with the Panthers winning each match.

Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when it squares off with Hamilton. Before the match, the program will honor the contributions of its three seniors.
