Middlebury has announced the hiring of Darren Shroyer as the associate equipment manager. Shroyer joins the Panthers after spending the fall working with Dartmouth College football as their assistant equipment director.

"I'm excited to have Darren join me in the equipment room," said Equipment Manager Shelley Payne. "I look forward to incorporating his knowledge and experience in collegiate football with NESCAC football, and to introducing him to all the sports Middlebury has to offer our student-athletes."

 

"As soon as I got to Middlebury, I knew this was the place for me," Shroyer said. "The culture, the people and the standard across the department really stood out. I'm grateful for the opportunity and look forward to doing my best to support our student-athletes and coaches."

 
During his time with the Big Green, Shroyer oversaw the inventory of football equipment and supplies for team operations. This included collaborating with vendors to procure necessary gear and distributing new apparel.
 
Shroyer spent the prior year at Campbell University, beginning the year in a graduate assistantship before being promoted to Interim Director of Football Equipment. He was responsible for the procurement of gear and outfitting the team, along with managing the coaches' headsets on game days. He also served as a football equipment intern at the University of Kansas before joining the Camels.
 
He majored in both Sport Management and Criminal Justice at Wayne State College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in both areas in December of 2023. He is currently pursuing his master's in exercise science from Campbell.
