Emma Mills earned her first indoor all-region honor.
The Middlebury women's track & field team had numerous competitors earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) Mideast All-Region honors. To earn the accolade, individuals and relay teams must place in the top eight regionally in their respective events.
RELAY HIGHLIGHTS
- The 4x400 relay team of Mary Elliot, Ella Pate, Jazmyn Hurley and Anna Mazur posted the Mideast region's third-quickest time of 3:53.07 at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. Elliot collects her fourth indoor regional relay accolade and Mazur earns her second. The other two Panthers secure their first relay award.
- The quartet of Annelise Jensen, Lily Bulczynski, Naomi Atwood and Claire Palmer posted a time of 11:38.61 in the distance medley relay (DMR) at the same meet, securing fourth in the region. Bulczynski and Atwood become three-time regional relay honorees, while Jensen and Palmer each receive their initial accolade.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Emily Rubio garnered a pair of all-region awards. She was second in the pentathlon, accumulating 3,493 points during the Middlebury Winter Classic. The Panther also cleared the bar in the high jump at a height of 1.63 meters to sit sixth among her peers. She secures her sixth and seventh praises from the organization, respectively.
- Tallying all-region laurels in a pair of events was Lilly Wurtz. She secures her third indoor honor in the weight throw and first in the shot put. The Panther placed third in the region in the weight throw with a school-record toss of 16.81m during the Tufts Final Qualifier. She hurled the implement in the shot put to a program-record length of 12.83m to place fourth regionally at the Division III New England Championships.
- Julia Tulimieri had the sixth-farthest shot put mark in the Mideast, heaving the instrument 12.64m at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. The honor is her third in the winter season.
- Atwood garnered her third indoor individual all-region accolade, while Jensen garnered her first this season in the 800. Atwood ranked sixth with a clocking of 2:14.28 from the Division III New England Championships. Jensen was a spot below at 2:15.90 during the Luke Hotte Field and Track Invitational.
- Clocking the second-fastest time among regional peers in the 60 was Olive Lawrence. She lowered the program record three times in the event during the campaign, crossing the line at 7.70 seconds during the AARTFC Track and Field Championships. The regional honor is her first as a Panther.
- Lily Haskins-Vaughan recorded a leap of 1.67m at the AARTFC Track and Field Championships, placing her fourth and securing the first all-region nod of her career.
- Emma Mills clocked the fourth-quickest and program-record time in the 60 hurdles, stopping the clock at 8.98 seconds during the Tufts Cupid Challenge for her first indoor all-region honor.
- In the 400, Pate crossed the line with a time of 57.57 seconds at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational to sit sixth in the region. The accolade is her first during the indoor campaign.
- Palmer rewrote the school record in the 3,000 during the Division III New England Championships, posting the sixth-best time (9:40.88) for her first all-region accolade.
- In the 200, Hurley clocked a time of 25.47 to rank eighth in the region. Her performance marks her first Mideast nod.
- Gabriella Gerig hit the sand at 11.04m in the triple jump during the Tufts Cupid Challenge. That distance ranks eighth regionally and gives the Middlebury jumper her first laurel.
- Claire Miller earned her initial regional honor in the pole vault. She cleared 3.20m at the Luke Hotte Field and Track Invitational. That mark was eighth in the region.
The Panthers commence their outdoor campaign with the UC Riverside Spring Classic on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
