Middlebury softball pitcher Emily Dowd has been named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Week. The accolade is the first of her career.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

• The Panther excelled in the circle in game two during a twin bill against St. Lawrence, giving up one run on four hits while striking out seven batters in a 6-1 triumph.
• Dowd's performance was her initial complete game in the navy and white. 
• The rookie sports a 2-0 mark with a 0.64 earned run average (ERA) this season.

Dowd and her teammates head south for the annual spring trip, kicking off action on Sunday with matchups against Westminster (12:15 p.m.) and Union (2:30 p.m.) in Clermont, Florida.
