Softball Posts Fourth-Highest GPA In Division III; 17 Panthers Named All-America Scholar-Athletes

Middlebury tallied the fourth-highest team GPA in Division III.

The Middlebury softball program earned recognition by Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for its commitment to the classroom, tallying the fourth-highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.785 during the 2024-25 academic year. Additionally, 17 student-athletes were honored as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.

The program accolade marks the fourth time in the last five years that the program earned one of the nation's top-10 GPAs in Division III. Joining the Panthers in the top-five places this year was NESCAC foe Bates, which achieved a 3.790 GPA.

For individual recognition, each student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher through the spring. Graduated players Samantha Hausman, Abigail Jankowski, Nina Schroeder and Cate Viola as well as rising seniors Kristyn Carroll and Jennifer Westphal earned the honors. Closing out the Middlebury accolades are juniors Kelley Dever, Sarah LaFond, Olivia Scholes, Skylar Wong, while sophomores Uma Corcoran, Olivia Fleming, Mia Gilham, Alison Jankowski, Olivia Schultz, Caitlin Stanley and Emily Ye were also recognized.

Hausman, Jankowski and Schroeder concluded their careers with four consecutive Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete awards.
