Griffin tallies her second CSC Academic All-America honor.
Amy Griffin of the Middlebury field hockey team has been named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America At-Large First Team selection.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Griffin, who walked across the stage in May with a degree in computer science, earns Academic All-America honors for the second-straight year.
- The midfielder concluded her final season for the Panthers with multiple national accolades, including NFHCA National Player of the Year and NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year.
- She picked up her second first-team All-American nod alongside her fourth all-region and third All-NESCAC honor.
- Griffin was a key contributor for Middlebury, leading the team with 14 assists to help propel the squad to their seventh-consecutive NCAA crown.
- She surpassed Catherine Fowler '14 to become the program's all-time leader in helpers (49) and is tied for fourth in career points alongside Erin Nicholas '21 with 161.
- A two-time NCAA All-Tournament Team member, Griffin tallied eight goals and eight assists during postseason action. Three of those goals were game-winners, including in the 2022 National Championship game against Johns Hopkins.
- The midfielder logged 4,438 career minutes and started 87 consecutive contests.Â
- In the classroom, the Panther is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic and NFHCA National Academic Team honoree while serving as a computer science tutor and member of Middlebury's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
