Carroll becomes the second softball player to receive the honor.
Middlebury softball player Kristyn Carroll was tabbed to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team. The Panther joins Noelle Ruschil '22 as the second player in program history to receive the honor.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Carroll is majoring in earth and climate sciences and owns a 3.78 grade point average (GPA).
- She was a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second year in a row.
- The Panther earned her third consecutive All-NESCAC and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region First Team accolades.
- Carroll was dominant in her third season, becoming the program's single-season record holder with 61 hits and 46 runs scored over 39 contests.
- The outfielder paced the NESCAC in on-base percentage (.580), batting average (.496) and walks (24).Â
- Carroll reached base safely in 36 of 39 games and had 26 multi-hit contests.
- The Panther vaulted to the top of the program record books in career walks, passing Kimber Sable '14 with 66 in her career so far.
- The junior has been a workhorse for Middlebury, tallying a .477 career batting average alongside 163 hits and 129 runs scored over 109 consecutive starts. She also holds the program mark with 65 career stolen bases.
