Softball Earns Two CSC Academic All-District Honors

Carroll and Scholes were named CSC All-District selections.

Kristyn Carroll and Olivia Scholes of the Middlebury softball team have been tabbed College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Carroll
    • Carroll tallies the honor for the second time.
    • The outfielder is an Earth & Climate Sciences major.
    • One of two players to compete in all 39 contests, Carroll paced the team in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.496), hits (61), stolen bases (27), walks (24) and on-base percentage (.580).
    • Her 61 hits and 46 runs scored were single-season program records.
    • The Panther earned her third consecutive All-NESCAC First Team honor and all-region first team accolades from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
  • Scholes
    • Scholes earns her initial CSC Academic All-District distinction in her first year of eligibility.
    • The all-around player secured NFCA All-Region accolades with a spot on the first team.
    • At the plate, Scholes led the Panthers with 12 doubles and 39 runs batted in over 39 contests. Her 48 hits and 74 total bases sat second behind Carroll.
    • The sophomore also excelled in the field, leading the team and setting a single-season record with 95 assists, while helping turn five double plays from the third base and shortstop positions.
