Women’s Track & Field Posts 18 Top-10 Finishes

Morrison posted a pair of top-10 finishes.
The Middlebury women's track and field team posted 18 top-10 finishes at the Amherst Spring Fling. Julia Tulimieri led the way, claiming the shot put.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Tulimieri's winning launch was marked at 12.16 meters. Lilly Wurtz finished in fourth place (11.01m) and Madeline Sauders was eighth (10.43m). 
  • Earning runner-up laurels in the hammer throw was Jaxon Palmer, heaving the implement 45.31m. Tulimieri claimed third place, tying her personal best with a mark of 44.86m. 
  • Sauders finished second in the discus with a launch of 38.16m. Maggie Kim was sixth with a personal-best mark of 33.57m, while Wurtz was seventh (31.74m).
  • Third place honors went to Macy Daggitt in the long jump (5.33m), Mary Elliott in the 800 meters (2:18.82) and Shea Fajen in the 5,000 (18:10.58). 
  • In her spring debut, Ella Pate finished in fourth during the 400 (1:00.03) and was seventh in the 200 (27.32 seconds). Addie Morrison was one spot back in the shorter event (27.70 seconds) and placed sixth in the 100 with a personal-record time of 13.38.
  • Emma Mills crossed the line in fourth in the 100 hurdles, clocking in at 15.95.
  • A pair of Panthers cracked the top-10 spots in the pole vault. Anna Kester led the way with a ninth-place height of 2.90m, while Claire Miller was 10th at the same mark for a personal best.
Middlebury travels to Massachusetts next weekend for the UMass Commonwealth Invite. The two-day meet begins on Friday.
