MacLean claimed the steeplechase for the second-straight year.
The Middlebury women's track and field team finished in fourth place with 113 points at the NESCAC Championship. The squad was led by
Audrey MacLean who claimed her second-straight conference title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Williams narrowly claimed the crown with 156 points, while Amherst was right behind with 150 points, and Tufts (139 points) rounded out the top three.

HIGHLIGHTS
- MacLean defended her crown in the steeplechase with a winning time of 10:21.15. The effort is currently the fastest in Division III.Â
- MacLean earned runner-up laurels in the 5,000, clocking in with a personal record of 16:46.78. Bea Parr finished in sixth with a personal-best time (17:11.93).
- In the long jump, Macy Daggitt finished as the runner-up with a leap of 5.75 meters.Â
- In the first and longest race on the track, Violet Ross finished in third place with a personal-best time of 37:00.38.Â
- The throwers had strong performances across all events, tallying 11 top-10 finishes. Lilly Wurtz led the way, finishing with silver in the discus with a launch of 39.27m. Madeline Sauders was fifth (37.11m), followed by Margaret Kim in ninth (32.96m).
- Julia Tulimieri garnered third place in the hammer throw, launching the implement 45.33m. Jaxon Palmer earned ninth with a mark of 43.07m, while Wurtz was 10th (41.81m).
- Tulimieri also guided the Panthers in the shot, placing fourth with a heave of 12.13m. Wurtz followed in fifth (11.96m), while Olive Lawrence rounded out the group in 10th (11.01m).Â
- Palmer placed fifth in the javelin with a mark of 36.43m, while Reilly Isler was two spots behind with a toss of 36.26m.
- Emily Rubio tallied a pair of top-five finishes, highlighted by a personal-best performance in the 100 hurdles. Rubio clocked in at 14.85 seconds to grab third place, while Emma Mills was eighth (16.47 seconds). Rubio cleared the bar at 1.62m in the high jump to earn fourth place.
- Rounding out the All-NESCAC honorees was Zoe Wang, placing third in the pole vault with a height of 3.65m.
- The 4x400 relay squad (Addie Morrison, Ella Pate, Elle Thompson and Anna Krouse) combined for a season-best fourth-place time of 3:57.49.Â
- The 4x100 relay quartet of Katie Bruno, Daggitt, Melissa White and Lawrence recorded a season-low time of 48.10 seconds to claim fifth.
- Also earning fifth place was Parr in the 1,500 with a personal-record time of 4:36.91. MK Cestaro was eighth in the event with a personal-best clocking of 4:40.05.
- Caroline VanSchaick, Lily Bulczynski, Mary Elliot and Naomi Gomel combined for a time of 9:34.52 in the 4x800 relay to place sixth.
- Thompson led the way in the 400 with a personal-best time of 57.65 seconds, while Elliot was ninth (58.84 seconds).
- Bulczynski finished in seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:16.66, while VanSchiack was 10th (2:17.75).
- Other seventh-place finishes came from Lawrence in the 100 (12.57 seconds) and Mazur in the 400 hurdles (1:05.79).Â
- Rounding out the top-10 finishes was Gabriella Gerig in eighth in the triple jump, recording a mark of 10.87m.
Select members of the team will travel to the Coast Guard Academy for the two-day Division III New England Championship beginning on Friday, May 2.
