Women’s Track and Field Grab 17 Top-10 Finishes Over Two Invites

The Middlebury women's track and field team earned 17 top-10 finishes at two separate meets over the weekend. The Panthers sent their heptathlon athletes to the Carla Coffey Invitational hosted by Smith, while the rest of the squad competed in UMass's Julie Lafreniere Commonwealth Invitational. 
 
CARLA COFFEY INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the heptathlon, Emily Rubio finished first overall with 4,436 total points. She secured individual event victories in the high jump (1.67 meters), long jump (5.09m), and 800-meter (2:36.42). 
JULIE LAFRENIERE COMMONWEALTH INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers secured two top-five finishes in the 5,000. Audrey MacLean earned silver at 17:08.82, while Bea Parr finished fourth with a time of 17:19.36.
  • Macy Daggitt captured runner-up in the long jump with a distance of 5.75m. 
  • Shea Fajen paced a quartet of finishers in the 3,000 steeplechase, claiming bronze with a time of 11:33.04. Stephanie Renouf (11:39.53), Janie Morganroth (11:51.63), and Adrienne Christy (11:51.88) placed fifth, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
  • The Panther team consisting of Katie Bruno, Daggitt, Melissa White, and Olive Lawrence finished fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 48.93 seconds.
  • Middlebury achieved two top-10 placings in the 800, with Lily Bulczynski claiming sixth at 2:16.38 and Elle Thompson earning tenth (2:18.29).
  • Ella Pate, Mary Elliot, Thompson, and Addie Morrison finished fourth overall in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:01.65.
  • In the javelin, Reilly Isler finished in sixth with a distance of 35.95m, while Jaxon Palmer secured eighth with her toss of 35.11m.
  • Anna Mazur secured ninth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:06.40.
  • In the 100, Bruno earned 10th with a clocking of 12.54 seconds.
NOTES
  • Bulczynski and Parr each recorded personal-best times in their individual events.
The Panthers host the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Allan Dragone Track and Field Complex. The squad will honor its senior class prior to the meet.
