#4 Women’s Tennis Shutouts Connecticut College 7-0

The #4 Middlebury women's tennis team shut out Connecticut College 7-0 on Sunday at the Outdoor Tennis Courts.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers grabbed the doubles points to quickly go up 1-0. The tandem of Nathalie van der Reis and Lulu Wu swept their opponents 6-0 at #2, while the duo of Sahana Raman and Nina Farhat won via a shutout in the first slot to give Middlebury the 1-0 advantage.
  • The pair of Ananya Annapantula and Anna Lardner triumphed 6-2 in the third slot to close out doubles play.
  • Gusty Beveridge claimed the second point of the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Lily Kerachsky in the fifth spot. 
  • Farhat pushed the Panthers to a 3-0 lead, earning a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the fourth slot. 
  • In the top spot, Elsie Van Wieren clinched the match for Middlebury with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Caitlin Cass. 
  • At #2, Wu secured the 4-0 advantage with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
  • Elizabeth Doak continued to increase the Panther lead, defeating Asahi Goods 6-2, 6-4 in the sixth spot.
  • In the final match of the day, Charlotte McCann grabbed a three-set battle (7-6, (7-2), 4-6, 10-2) against Maya Kowalska at #3 to secure the 7-0 victory.
NOTES
  • McCann and Van Wieren won their 25th and 20th matches, respectively.
  • Farhat has won 15-straight singles matches.
Middlebury remains at home and hosts Williams on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
