The #12 Middlebury men's tennis team hosted Connecticut College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in a Sunday doubleheader. The Panthers swept the Camels 7-0 before holding off the Engineers 4-3 in the second contest.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. CONNECTICUT COLLEGE
- Middlebury cruised in doubles action to secure the first point of the match. Sidney Huet and Reif Larsen claimed a 6-1 victory in the third spot before Nikky Kondamuri and Hugh Hentschel won 6-2 at #2.
- The Panthers pushed their lead to 3-0 via straight-set victories from Laber in the top spot (6-0, 6-1) and Kondamuri at #5 (6-0, 6-0).
- Huet clinched the match with identical 6-1 triumphs in the sixth slot.
- Lewis (6-0, 6-1) and Larsen (6-2, 6-3) kept the straight-set theme going with wins in the second and fourth positions, respectively, for a 6-0 score.
- Thehan Wijemanne secured the sweep with his 6-2, 6-3 decision over Wolf Sohlberg at #3.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. MIT
- Middlebury got out to a quick start, sweeping doubles action to take a 1-0 edge. The #3 duo of Lewis and Larsen won 6-0, while Laber and Wijemanne tallied a 6-2 decision in the top spot.
- Wijemanne (6-1, 6-1) and Laber (6-1, 6-3) put the Panthers on the doorstep of clinching with singles victories from the sixth and first slots, respectively.
- MIT battled back, as Ryan Xiao earned a straight-set triumph (6-2, 6-3) at #2 and Siddharth Marathe claimed a victory (6-1, 6-4) in the fourth slot to cut the deficit to 3-2.
- Epstein gave the Panthers the match point in his 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 decision in the third spot.
- The Engineers closed the battle with a three-set victory in the sixth slot.

- Larsen earned his 10th career singles triumph in match one.
- The Panthers pushed their winning streaks over the Camels and Engineers to 15 and eight-straight matches, respectively.
Middlebury closes its regular-season road slate with a battle at Williams on Saturday at noon.
