#10 Women’s Tennis Cruises To 6-1 Victory At Bates

The #10 Middlebury women's tennis team claimed all three doubles matches and never looked back en route to a 6-1 victory at Bates.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers notched triumphs in order during tandem play. Nina Farhat and Sahana Raman led things off with a 6-2 win at #1, followed by Claudia Miller and Elsie Van Wieren in the second spot (6-2) to secure the 1-0 edge. 
  • Pair Nathalie van der Reis and Lulu Wu claimed a 6-3 triumph in the third slot.
  • Van Wieren dropped just one game to pick up a win at #2 (6-1, 6-0).
  • Farhat claimed both sets by 6-1 scores in the sixth position to increase the Middlebury advantage to 3-0.
  • Wu clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at #4, before Raman made it 5-0 with a pair of 6-3 set victories at the top of the lineup.
  • The Bobcats grabbed their lone point with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the third spot, but Middlebury had the final say with an identical scoreline at #5 by van der Reis for the 6-1 triumph.
NOTES
  • Farhat claimed her 12th-straight singles win, improving to 16-1 overall this year.
  • The programs played for the 36th time with the Panthers notching their 35th win in the series.
After spending nearly the entire month of March on the road, Middlebury returns home for the remainder of the regular season. The Panthers kickstart the span by hosting Bowdoin (Saturday) and Colby (Sunday) next weekend.
