The Middlebury women's track and field team concluded its spring break trip at the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State University. The two-day meet was highlighted by strong performances in the field events, and school record performances by Audrey MacLean and Lilly Wurtz.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, MacLean paced a trio of Panthers, finishing as the runner-up with a personal-best time of 10:28.51. Shea Fajen was eighth (11:32.27), while Adrienne Christy was ninth (11:40.37). 
• Macy Daggitt placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.44 meters.
• Wurtz finished fifth in the shot put with a personal-best launch of 12.40m, while Julia Tulimieri was eighth (11.85m). Tulimieri led the way in the hammer on Friday with a personal-record heave of 44.85m.
• The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Anna Krouse, Addie Morrison, Mary Elliot and Annabel Cloney placed fourth with a clocking of 4:00.91.
• In the 400 hurdles, Anna Mazur crossed the line in sixth, shaving two seconds off her personal best with a time of 1:05.97.
• Also earning sixth was Zoe Wang, flying over the bar at 3.52m in the pole vault.
• The javelin was led by Jaxon Palmer's seventh-place effort (36.55m), while Reilly Isler finished in ninth (35.58m). 
• Madeline Sauders placed eighth in the discus with a heave of 40.68m, followed by Wurtz in ninth with a personal-best mark of 40.18m.

NOTES

• MacLean set the school record in the steeplechase, erasing the previous time of 10:28.66 set by Margo Cramer in 2012.
• Wurtz now owns the school mark in the shot put, as she eclipsed teammate Tulimieri who had the record at 12.35m in 2023.

The Panthers return to Vermont for a week of training before traveling to Massachusetts for the Amherst Spring Fling on April 5.
