Panthers Compete at Middlebury’s New England Small College Invite

Emily Rubio was third in the 60-meter hurdles during Sunday's meet.
The Panther women's track and field team hosted the Middlebury New England Small College Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance. The Panthers tallied a pair of wins and numerous top-eight finishes.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bea Parr began the meet for the Panthers with a victorious time of 17:42.21 during the 5,000 meters.
  • The other win came from Julia Tulimieri, who outthrew the field in the shot put with her best launch covering 12.43 meters, just fourth hundredths off the program's indoor record. Lilly Wurtz was fourth in the event with a heave of 11.76m.
  • Macy Daggitt hit the sand with a runner-up leap in the long jump (5.46m). 
  • During the last event of the afternoon, the distance medley relay team of Sheldyn Fisher, Lily Bulczynski, Caroline VanSchaick and MK Cestaro earned silver with a clocking of 12:37.35.
  • Emily Rubio recorded a pair of third-place showings. She crossed the line with a time of 9.37 in the 60 hurdles and leaped to a distance of 5.29m during the long jump.
  • Top-five finishes were tallied by Anna Krouse in the 400 (third - 59.60), Zoe Wang during the pole vault (fourth - 3.55m), Emma Mills in the 60 hurdles (fifth - 9.56) and Wurtz during the weight throw (fifth - 14.19m).
  • Earning seventh-place results were Daggitt in the 60 dash (8.15), Addie Morrison during the 400 (1:00.22), Tulimieri in the weight throw (13.18m) and Grace Hall during the triple jump (10.85m).
NOTES
  • Tulimieri's winning distance in the shot put was a collegiate-best effort.
Middlebury jumps back into action on Saturday when they compete in the Panther Invitational II hosted by Plymouth State.
