Mustafaj Becomes First Panther In School History To Eclipse 2,000 Points

The Middlebury women's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end, falling 72-63 to Tufts. During the contest, Alexa Mustafaj become the first Panther regardless of gender to eclipse the 2,000 career point mark.

  • Tufts came out of the intermission strong, rattling off 13-unanswered points for a 29-13 lead with 6:31 to go.
  • Middlebury responded with a 7-1 run, capped by a layup from Augusta Dixon at the 4:20 mark, to slice the advantage to 10 (30-20).

  • With 1:17 left, a shot from beyond the arc by Keeley Baglio closed the gap to single digits (67-59), before Middlebury was forced to foul.
  • Following a pair of charity tosses from Callie O'Brien, an Emma Kirck layup with 49 ticks left made it 69-61, but that was as close as the Panthers would get.
