The #9 Middlebury women's soccer team scored two goals in the first half, but Wesleyan was able to find the game-tying tally in the second as the teams settled for a 2-2 draw.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Cardinals looked to get on the board early off a shot from Katie O'Connell, but Maddie Schin made a nice block and cleared the ball out of the defensive area. 
• The Panthers took a 1-0 lead at the 22:49 mark. Mia Feldman passed the ball up to Chloe Swindle whose shot blasted past Wesleyan goaltender Molly Brumbach.
• Seconds later, O'Connell's header redirected to Maria Utz who one-timed it just past Middlebury goalie Carolyn Kelley's outstretched hands to tie the game 1-1.
• Riley Buehler looked to give the Cardinals an advantage at the 29:03 mark, but Kelley made the diving save to deny the chance.
• Roshann Purcell took a free kick from 30 yards out with 41:58 expired. A Wesleyan defender tried to clear the ball away, but her header tucked just inside the upper right corner to give the Panthers a late 2-1 edge.
• Wesleyan tied the game early in the second half. Kerenza Leahey crossed the ball to O'Connell whose shot from 20 yards out found the back of the net to even the game at 2-2.
• Both teams looked for the golden goal throughout the second half, but the defensive units for both team's held strong as the teams settled for a 2-2 draw.

NOTES

• The programs squared off for the 40th time with Middlebury owning a 27-5-8 advantage in the series.

The Panthers close out their road stretch with a 7:00 p.m. start at Vermont State University Castleton on Wednesday.
