HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Polar Bears marched down the field on their first possession of the game. The squad threatened to score a touchdown, but Tomás Kenary had back-to-back tackles in the red zone, forcing Bowdoin to kick a field goal. Caden Perry split the uprights for the early 3-0 edge.
  • A safety with nearly four minutes remaining in the opening quarter gave the Polar Bears a 5-0 advantage.

  • Middlebury robbed the Polar Bears of a first-half shutout, cutting the deficit to five (12-7). The Panthers took over at the Bowdoin 45-yard line with only 1:05 to go, making their way down the field until Brian Moran found Connor McClellan for a five-yard scoring strike with just 31 ticks left on the clock. Zach Levy converted the extra point to make it 12-7 at the break.
  • Bowdoin extended its advantage to 15-7 with 7:55 left in the third quarter when Jotham Casey booted a 20-yard field goal through the uprights.
  • On the next drive, Moran found Patrick Jamin for a 49-yard reception to put the Panthers in scoring position. Two plays later, the pair hooked up again for a 13-yard completion. The defense forced a fumble on the play at the one-yard line, but Ethan Vashel was there to recover the ball in the endzone for a touchdown. Moran and Jamin connected again for the two-point conversion to knot the contest at 15-15.
  • Middlebury took its first lead of the game with eight seconds left in the third quarter. Cody Weitzman broke through with a 31-yard rushing touchdown and a PAT from Levy gave the Panthers a 22-15 edge.
  • Middlebury carried its momentum into the fourth quarter. Levy lifted a 21-yard field goal through the uprights with just over 10 minutes left to give the visitors a 25-15 advantage.
  • Bowdoin's short ensuing drive was stifled by a sack from Kenary, forcing the squad to punt. Carter Stockwell had back-to-back rushes for 31 and 20 yards, respectively, to put the Panthers in scoring distance. Moran found Mike Ahonen for a six-yard touchdown and Levy's kick was good for the 32-15 lead.
  • Middlebury did not let up, with Rocco Stola intercepting a Polar Bear pass on the next drive, returning the ball 22 yards. A pair of short carries by Weitzman were followed by a seven-yard rushing touchdown from McClellan. Levy followed with a PAT to extend the advantage to 39-15.
