Macy Daggitt of the Middlebury women's track and field team earned All-American honors in the long jump to kick off the opening day of the NCAA Championships.
Audrey MacLean competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, qualifying for the finals on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Daggitt hit the sand at 5.86 meters on her second attempt of the day.
- Her mark held steady, as the Panther finished in fourth place overall out of 22 competitors.Â
- MacLean settled into fourth place early on in her race. Colorado College's Kendall Accetta threatened to close the gap and put MacLean's automatic qualifying position in jeopardy, but the Panther made an impactful move with a little over a lap to go.Â
- MacLean, who was roughly two strides behind the top trio, caught up to the pack and separated herself from Accetta who was on her heels. The Panther sprinted to the finish line, placing fourth in her heat with a clocking of 10:34.23.
- There were two heats in the preliminary round, with MacLean finishing eighth overall out of 22 racers to earn her spot in the finals on Friday.

- Daggitt entered the event ranked ninth in the country.
- Rainah Dunham of Ursinus claimed the long jump with a leap of 5.98m, while Maya Evans of Wisconsin La-Crosse was second, and Buffalo State's Khia Laster was third (5.89m).Â
- MacLean's time was her second-fastest of the season.
- Both Panthers made their NCAA Championship debut.Â
