Throwers Shine At Meet Hosted By Amherst

Palmer had a pair of top-three finishes at the meet.
The throwers of the Middlebury women's track and field team shined at the Amherst Spring Fling on Sunday, tallying five top-five finishes at the meet.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jaxon Palmer produced a pair of top-three finishes. The Panther was the runner-up in the javelin with a toss of 35.68 meters, and placed third in the hammer with a personal-best mark of 43.31m. 
  • Also competing in the javelin was Reilly Isler, launching the implement 35.52m to earn bronze. 
  • Rounding out the third-place showings for the throwers was Julia Tulimieri, tossing the shot put a distance of 11.42m. 
  • Madeline Sauders capped the strong group performance with a fifth place effort in the discus, whipping the implement 38.53m. 
  • Sprinter Addie Morrison finished in sixth in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:01.53. Morrison also placed 12th in the 200 with a time of 26.92 seconds.
  • Emma Mills tallied a pair of top-10 finishes. The Panther placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 4.93m, while finishing in 10th place in the 110 hurdles with a clocking of 16.57 seconds.
  • Rounding out Middlebury's top-10 performers was Olivia Carden who placed ninth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.55. 
The Panthers travel to Smith on Friday for the two-day Carla Coffey Invitational.
