#8 Women’s Tennis Blanks Connecticut College

The eighth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team blanked Connecticut College 9-0 to pick up its second-straight NESCAC victory.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers got out to a quick start, completing doubles in order. Tandem Sahana Raman and Nathalie van der Reis opened with an 8-1 triumph, followed by #2 Claudia Miller and Gena Huang with an 8-4 win. The third team of Nina Farhat and Lulu Wu edged their opponents 8-6 to put Middlebury up 3-0.
  • Charlotte McCann increased the Panther lead to 4-0 with a straight-set win at #5. McCann dropped just one game across the two sets (6-0, 6-1).
  • Clinching the match for Middlebury was Miller, earning a 6-2, 6-0 triumph in the second slot.
  • The Panthers closed out the contest with straight-set wins from Farhat at #6, Amy Delman at #4, Raman at #1 and Huang at #3.
NOTES
  • The teams played for the 15th time, with Middlebury claiming each meeting.
  • McCann's win was the 15th of her career, and her third-straight victory. 
The Panthers continue their Connecticut competition next weekend, traveling to Trinity on Saturday and #5 Wesleyan on Sunday.
